POWER FLOW features 1 bulkhead fitting(s) for. As a result, I have the water overflowing from the tank into the interior box and it drops about 4-5" to the bottom and that's where the noise is coming from. The U-tube style compact overflow boxes are designed to fit between your tank and wall to minimize space usage. I put in a 'gurgle buster' and that thing is pretty much dead silent. The one that I figured out was the drain that goes from the outside box down to the sump. There are two parts that make noise and I've managed to silence one so far. I tried adjusting it so that they were even but even then it would still rise or fall over the course of time and if I do it in the wrong direction I could overflow the tank. I recently set up an Eshopps PF300 Overflow box on my 20 long and I'm having a bit of trouble getting it quiet. If I increase the amount of water coming out of the return pump then I risk overflowing the tank because I can only have so much water traveling through the U-Tube. Adding a sump to a tank will allow you to hide equipment and while adding water volume making your tank more stable.

I have a ball valve on the return pump and a ball valve on the overflow box so I can adjust things there. Add an overflow to any aquarium with Eshopps PF series of hang on back overflows.

The U-tube stays full for the most part but does have some random bubbles that flow all the way through it so I know that I have enough flow. Even if I pour water into that box, the water level drops within 30 seconds or so. The issue I'm having is that it's never full.
